Samantha’s wedding gown is an ivory english net with hand applied embroidery and hand beaded details. Her dress features a v-neck, natural waistline, and a super soft skirt with huge godets and a ridiculous amount of fabric at the hem-line, that adds up to a soft-flowy train, full of sequined appliques in silver and iridescent tones. One of my favorite dresses!!!
Hayley’s custom wedding gown is an applied jersey lace with English net accents, v neck and gathered cap sleeves. We used the fabric from a dress from Anthropolgie that she fell in love with, but the fit was off, and had a few details she didn’t care for. We deconstructed the entire thing, and re-cut the dress to fit Hayley properly with her custom pattern. We modified the side princess seam panels with English net and added a curved princess seam from the waistline into the hip line, giving the dress a more smooth look, while accenting Hayley’s curves. We also added a tipped drop waist in layers of English net to create a soft mermaid skirt and subtle train. The addition of a floor length cut edge veil completed her look.
I very rarely get a fiance who comes to the fittings, but since Hayley was from out of town, he was there. When we finished the dress, she really wanted to show him, so I was able to get a few photos of that. I’m so honored that I was able to witness such a private moment. They’re sooo in love!
Here you can see the original Miriam dress from Anthropologie. You can see where we switched out the ‘fishy’ texture on the side seams, as well as the sleeve and neckline change, with the addition of the skirt and train. Such a fun dress!
Kohanna’s custom wedding gown is a a bright white mermaid style raschel lace background with Alencon lace appliqués on the skirt, sleeves and bodice. Her neckline is a high sweetheart shape with large scallops and her dress features beaded details on each appliqué. She also has a beaded lace sash in a light ivory to accent her natural waistline.
Also, Kohanna just happens to be my newest sister-in-law! Welcome to the family!!!
Kim’s custom wedding gown is a silk duppion sheath cut with a slight train. Her neckline is a soft v on the tip of her shoulders with a gathered raglan sleeve. Her natural waistline features a heavily beaded rhinestone sash and her chapel length train is embroidered with lace appliqués.
Sometimes, when I’m constructing a dress, I have a picture in my head of how the dress should be photographed, and this last image is it for Kim’s gown. Thanks Kim, for enduring the uncomfortable pose, and for choosing the sparkly-est sash ever!!! It complimented those Kate Spades perfectly, and made the dress so fun!
Whitney’s custom lace wedding dress features 3/4 length sleeves, a round neckline and pieced lace. Her seamed gown accentuates her curves with delicate floral Venise trim with alencon eyelash lace on her neckline as well as her fingertip length veil. I love doing gowns with knit linings. Seeing a bride be able to actually move in her gown is fun. Check out the photos of Whitney all curled up in that cozy chair. So awesome.
Abby’s wedding gown is an ivory Chantilly lace over a pink under dress with bell sleeves. Her lace is soft and flowing, with venise lace appliques on the sweetheart neckline and appliques accenting the drop waist detail. Her custom headpiece is a wired pink enamel floral crown.
Katie’s custom bridal gown is a silk jersey with silk gauze overlay. Her bodice has corseted seaming with gathered details, a soft v-neck, cap sleeves and a mermaid silhouette. Her cathedral length veil perfectly compliments her custom beaded headpiece.
Chaille’s custom wedding dress is a soft Chantilly lace in a dark ecru, lined in the softest ivory knit. Her neckline and sleeves are trimmed in Venise lace, and her whole look is finished off with a dramatic cut edge veil.
Erin’s custom bridal gown is a soft English net with a lace appliquéd bodice, round neckline with sweetheart seaming and natural waistline. Her flutter sleeves and softly draped skirt are pulled into an adjustable gathered back. Perfect for her beach wedding in Hawaii, and complemented with a fingertip length cut-edge veil.
This last photo totally sums up how much fun I had with Erin!
Ok World! I took these photos of Leslie’s dress in OCTOBER. Seriously. October. I can’t believe how time has flown by I can’t let another day go by with out sharing these photos! Leslie is my beautiful sister-in-law.
And her dress is my favorite.
I put so much love into each dress that I make that sometimes I have a hard time letting go when I’m done. They are like my children. I know I’m not supposed to pick favorites. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!!! Enough gushing. On to the dress specs:
Leslie’s custom gown is an english net with applied venise lace appliques. (Side note, a million little lace appliques, I’m not exaggerating here. I took 5 different lace patterns and made them all into one amazing collage.) Her lining is a blush-y peach colored silk charmeuse. Her sweetheart neckline features daisy lace, with medallions on her pinched cap sleeves, that sweep onto her lower back highlighting her covered buttons and loop tape. Her custom veil also features matching lace appliques and compliments her beaded headpiece.
