Kohanna’s custom wedding gown is a a bright white mermaid style raschel lace background with Alencon lace appliqués on the skirt, sleeves and bodice. Her neckline is a high sweetheart shape with large scallops and her dress features beaded details on each appliqué. She also has a beaded lace sash in a light ivory to accent her natural waistline.
Also, Kohanna just happens to be my newest sister-in-law! Welcome to the family!!!
Whitney’s custom lace wedding dress features 3/4 length sleeves, a round neckline and pieced lace. Her seamed gown accentuates her curves with delicate floral Venise trim with alencon eyelash lace on her neckline as well as her fingertip length veil. I love doing gowns with knit linings. Seeing a bride be able to actually move in her gown is fun. Check out the photos of Whitney all curled up in that cozy chair. So awesome.
Abby’s wedding gown is an ivory Chantilly lace over a pink under dress with bell sleeves. Her lace is soft and flowing, with venise lace appliques on the sweetheart neckline and appliques accenting the drop waist detail. Her custom headpiece is a wired pink enamel floral crown.
Chaille’s custom wedding dress is a soft Chantilly lace in a dark ecru, lined in the softest ivory knit. Her neckline and sleeves are trimmed in Venise lace, and her whole look is finished off with a dramatic cut edge veil.
Ok World! I took these photos of Leslie’s dress in OCTOBER. Seriously. October. I can’t believe how time has flown by I can’t let another day go by with out sharing these photos! Leslie is my beautiful sister-in-law.
And her dress is my favorite.
I put so much love into each dress that I make that sometimes I have a hard time letting go when I’m done. They are like my children. I know I’m not supposed to pick favorites. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!!! Enough gushing. On to the dress specs:
Leslie’s custom gown is an english net with applied venise lace appliques. (Side note, a million little lace appliques, I’m not exaggerating here. I took 5 different lace patterns and made them all into one amazing collage.) Her lining is a blush-y peach colored silk charmeuse. Her sweetheart neckline features daisy lace, with medallions on her pinched cap sleeves, that sweep onto her lower back highlighting her covered buttons and loop tape. Her custom veil also features matching lace appliques and compliments her beaded headpiece.
I’ve given up on narrowing down Liz’s photos. There’s a bit more than I usually post, but I love them all, so here you go.
Liz’s dress is a hand cut French Chantilly lace, applied onto an English net base with silk charmeuse and fabric covered buttons. Her round neckline is bias bound, and every one of those buttons has an authentic loop on her sleeves. She was so patient with me buttoning each one to test the fit of her sleeves during her fittings. Totally worth it. Her bodice has a subtle bustier effect with the lace appliqued in a sweetheart shape, dipping down to her natural waist at the side seams. The English net layer on her skirt is full to the tune of 15 yards, with panels of lace tendrils climbing up along the eyelash lace scalloped hem. I’m in LOVE with this dress!
Brenn’s custom gown began as a dress purchased at a vintage shop in Europe. We reused the original lace from the skirt and part of the flounce on the bodice, and incorporated five other new coordinating laces or nets, and a new, fully nude colored lining to keep the dress light and sheer, yet completely modest. Brenn was a blast to work with! And something about her dress made me seriously homesick for the woods of Massachusetts, and reading Emily Dickinson poems on the lawn.
Sydney ‘s custom wedding gown is a mermaid cut alencon lace, with a scalloped sweetheart neckline, elbow length sleeves and empire waist ruffle detail. Her veil is a soft ivory chiffon. and cap sleeves.
Haley’s custom lace wedding gown is a floral Alencon with a dark ivory eyelet under layer. Her v-neck, short sleeve dress features a velvet ribbon, rhinestone buttons, and flower detail at the waistline.
I had a blast working with Haley, with her being a fellow Easterner.
She gets me in a way maybe some others don’t…
A special thanks to The Gardner Family for letting us use their beautiful yard for her photos!!!!
Brenna’s Custom Lace Wedding Dress is knee length with round neck, elbow length sleeves and a pleated lace skirt. Her bodice features sweetheart seaming with a peachy nude colored lining on the neckline and cap sleeve and her silk charmeuse sash has a beaded detail on the natural waist. A blusher veil and short petticoat complete her look.
